Traumatized humans usually have higher cortisol rates (van der Kolk, 2014 etc.). Oxytoxin leads to a decrease in stress-associated behaviors, and facilitates post-traumatic growth, ultimately leading to increased resilience, through improved social cohesion and attachment.
